When it comes to men’s fashion, we like to think we know a thing or two. Keeping up with the latest trends in the world of barbering, means paying considerable attention to the catwalks. It’s an image conscious industry, so yeah, you can’t really test our style.

And that is why, chaps and chapettes, we’re bringing you the Chaps & Co. men’s fashion trends for fall 2022. We don’t want you to fall short from the neck down, so the following is what we think will be hot between now and the years’ end.

Men’s Fashion Trends for Fall

The Canadian Tuxedo

First up on the list, is a throw back to a simpler time, when you had just jeans, shirts, and denim shirts. For the majority of the 90s and the best part of this century, double denim has been reserved for the UK’s Jeremy Clarkson and Wrangler adverts. Well, my pretties, it’s back.

The look, though, has now evolved. Rather than those shrink-in-the-bath 501s, double denim has a little more freedom. With baggy shirts and flared jeans, the 2022 double denim offers more room all round, and even a frayed seam allowance.

Add a little extra? For the adventurous amongst you, there’s always the triple denim, grab a denim bucket hat and play a game of hide and seek Levi’s store at Times Square.

Work-Leisure

This could quite well be a spill over from the pandemic (sorry to bring it up). With work-from-home dominating much of 2020 and 2021, a more relaxed approach to work attire seems to have emerged.

Whether this boils down to man working in his natural habitat (the sofa), or it’s a shift in empathy from corporations, softened by the happenings of the last couple of years, we guess time will tell.

Anyway, the ethos behind the work-leisure is to either tone it up or tone it down. Cords and classic khakis, with plaid shirt, knitted blazer and some Chelsea boots. Or shirt, blazer and tie, with jeans and neutral-colored sneakers.

The 80s are Back!

It could be Stranger Things, or it could be the endless cycle of trends. Either way, the 80s are back. Corduroys and cardigans of beige and brown, or that cabincore look, ready to go down to the woods today, sure of a big surprise.

Taking some loose fitting, neutral-colored chinos, a patterned jumper or cardigan and a trawler beanie. Combine those with a pair of moccasins and you are ready to take on the most dedicated of hipsters.

Patterned Sets

Previously only seen on your granny’s curtains and tablecloths, matched patterns have arrived on the catwalk. With names such as Études and Bianca Saunders showing off spectacular patterned combos during men’s fashion week, we expect these to grow in popularity over the coming months.

The great thing about patterned sets, is you can take a top or bottom, and match it with some basics like jeans or knitwear. What you do with your feet, is your choice. When making such statements, either complete contrast or matching schemes will do just fine.

Color Schemes

The colors, as always during fall take their inspiration from the season and nature. Browns, oranges and dusty blues, with subtle yellows, dark reds and tan reflect the changes of the seasons and the shift in temperatures.

Whether patterns, plaid or prints, sticking to the colors of the season will keep you in tow of the latest trends.

If you need a new haircut or a beard trim in NYC to go with that new wardrobe, you can book into our barbershop through this link. To see our full range of services, it’s here.
