Training and Development Manager

Hi, I’m Jac. I began my career as a hairdresser in the small village of Griffithstown, South Wales, UK, in 2007 after completing high school education. From the age of 14 I began to develop an obsession with hair, often aspiring to be as great as my mother, Michelle Ludlow (owner of Bojangles hairdressers) and other industry icons such as Vidal Sassoon, Patrick Cameron and Trevor Sorbie. I was fascinated with shorter styles as I could produce cleaner and more precise hair cuts to show off transformations of facial shapes. However, I found it very difficult to express my vision, as female clients at that time were not adventurous. I shifted my focus towards barbering, knowing that typically men tend to have shorter hair which would allow me to practice the more precise looks and reach my potential. Since making this decision, I have opened 3 branches of my first brand, Bojangles British Barber Club. I’ve created my own personal education system and unique style of teaching, allowing others to understand and benefit from years of research. This has led to international acclaim and has allowed me to educate all over the world. I also sit on the City and Guilds industry steering board and focus on raising the standards of the industry. I’m proud to say that in 2018 I took my barbershop experience global (as well as my education company), and am now proud to have joined the Chaps & Co team as a training development manager. I believe that regardless of the world wide brands I have worked with, this is the fastest growing male grooming chain in the Middle East and will become a global iconic brand. It’s so refreshing to be part of such a forward thinking organisation, who prioritise their clients as well as their service quality. I am hugely inspired by artists. My Favourite is Leonardo Da Vinci for his piece called “The Vitruvian Man”. Vitruvius was a roman architect that had a particular interest in the proportions of the human body. This has always fascinated me as the structure of the head and face shape influences so much in the hair world. My objective is to stretch your thinking, to help you clarify your vision and then make it happen, to do this you need to understand multiple factors. I want you to harness the correct knowledge so that you understand how to execute your visions and turn them into art.
