My name is Ian, I am 30 years old and have been cutting hair professionally for 5 years. When I was younger, I  followed our old school tradition by prioritising the family business, which was restaurants and customer service. I started work experience at the young age of 7 and whilst doing this until I was 13, I started to play in a band – I’m very proud to say I still do so today. As you can imagine image was very important in a band, so I took it upon myself to cut all off my band members hair. At this point, I started to develop a passion for barbering. As our journey progressed myself and the band decided to open up a barbershop/tattooist/clothing store. Although it was an exciting project, I decided I wanted to become a professional within the hair industry and to do so it would require the correct education and environment. I knew I would need to be surrounded by the best to become one of the best, so approached Chaps & Co who gave me an incredible opportunity. My attitude has always been to ‘act as a pro you do as a pro’. I’m proud to say I am the first apprentice ever within the Chaps & Co brand. My journey has been nothing but educational and exciting. I’m looking forward to an exciting future where I know I’ll never stop learning. I’m very dedicated to this job and take great inspiration from working within such a great team.
