My name is Ian, I am 30 years old and have been cutting hair professionally for 5 years. When I was younger, I  followed our old school tradition by prioritising the family business, which was restaurants and customers service. I started work experience at the young age of 7 and whilst doing this until I was 13, I started to play in a band – I’m very proud to say I still do so today. As you can imagine image was very important in a band, so I took it upon myself to cut all off my band members hair. At this point, I started to develop a passion for barbering. As our journey progressed myself and the band decided to open up a barbershop/tattooist/clothing store. Although it was an exciting project, I decided I wanted to become a professional within the hair industry and to do so it would require the correct education and environment. I knew I would need to be surrounded by the best to become one of the best, so approached Chaps and Co who gave me an incredible opportunity. My attitude has always been to ‘act as a pro you do as a pro’. I’m proud to say I am the first apprentice ever within the Chaps and Co brand. My journey has been nothing but educational and exciting. I’m looking forward to an exciting future where I know I’ll never stop learning. I’m very dedicated to this job and take great inspiration from working within such a great team.
