Excitement has been building here at Chaps & Co. for the most of us, as the World Cup gets underway. There’s nothing more we love more than the good game. With the FPL on hold, you can bet all our focus will be on the happenings in Qatar.

We employ a wide demographic of barbers, from all corners of the globe. As such we’ve got a few rivalries here and there, as well as a few new bonds being made. But which nation will be victorious?

The World Cup History

The historic competition has in the past thrown out some dark horses in the preliminary rounds. All this as well as a shock exits, intense penalty-shootouts and of course, world beating hair styles. Never before though has it been held in the Middle East, and in the otherwise frostier months for many of the game’s fans around the globe.

The World Cup – It’s Time for Qatar

That does make this one feel extra special. Especially with our proximity and the extra work being put in to celebrate the game all around the region. We’ll be closely following the progress of all the teams from around the region and our new residence, the USA. A matter of contention for our co-founder Jordan Davies, who now lives in the US, but is originally from Wales (1st match in Group B is USA vs Wales).

The World Cup Haircuts

As barbers, we will of course be keen to see what styles come out of the tunnels. They’ll be influencing the requests of our clients over the next few months. Looking to celebrities and sports stars for the latest trims, tends to be the way of the world. We expect a little divergence from the usuals over the course of the comp and into the new year.

So far, the star of the show has been the US’s Weston McKennie. Juventus midfielder, McKennie has revealed an afro-style cut, with the red, white and blue colours of the American flag.

Previous years of the competition never fail to bring out the best in wild, memorable and iconic hairstyles. From Romania’s entire squad going Eminem bleach blonde, to Chris Waddles mullet. Abel Xavier’s bleached blonde hair and beard, or of course Ronaldo’s bizarre hair island.

The Handsome

As the game goes on, we’ll keep a keen eye out and perhaps in the new year, we can do the world cup in review, according to the haircuts.

If you need to find yourself a new look for the fixtures, you can book into any of our salons through this link or click here to see the list of service.

We hope you enjoy the competition, good luck to your team, and remember to #KeepItHandsome
