My name is Matin, a 22-year-old from Iran. My journey in the world of barbering is a unique one. It’s been a part of my life from a very early age. My mother, a skilled hairdresser, held a strong wish for me to follow in her footsteps. From the moment I opened my eyes, I found myself immersed in the atmosphere of a barbershop.

At the age of 16, I made the decision to leave traditional schooling behind and started on an apprenticeship journey under the guidance of my older brother. This apprenticeship lasted for a year, during which I gained fundamental skills. In my passion to gain my professional experience, I enrolled in a hairdressing school and received a technical degree.

I joined my cousin’s barbershop, where I worked on my craft for an additional year. But my dream to explore new horizons led me to continue on a journey of emigration. I dedicated two years to military service and resumed my career afterward. After I  completed my military service, I returned home to Iran but felt a disconnection with my homeland.

This led me back to Dubai, where I started on a new chapter in my career by joining the team at Chaps and Co. Notably, I come from a family involved in the hair salon business, with nearly 20 establishments. With five years of experience under my belt, I have developed a understanding of the profession and take pride in my expertise.

I specialize in various haircut styles, with particular proficiency in skinfade and longhair techniques. Thank you for allowing me to share my unique journey and skills in the world of barbering.
