My name is Ksenia, I am 29 years old from Russia. I haven’t always been a barber. When I left school, my father pushed me to study municipal and government management, which I am proud to say I graduated with great results. During this time, I won a miss university modelling contest. This allowed me to relocate to Moscow where I worked in sales and HR, whilst continuing to study. During this time my studies had changed and I was now focusing on TV and radio. One day I decided I wanted a more adventurous life, so I decided to travel to see different cultures. Whilst doing so I used this time to assess what I wanted to do with my future. On my travels I was working as a hostess, so I started to really enjoy the customer service sector. However, my grandmother was asking me to come back to Russia to visit her, and one night I was watching a TV show that included a barber girl. This inspired me as most barbers are men. I started searching for a barber school as I liked the creative side of the industry. I was very grateful when I passed my course as very soon after a premium Russian barbershop offered me a job. I was comfortable there but I knew it wasn’t my final destination, so when I came across Chaps & Co I applied for a job instantly. I am very grateful for the opportunity to work here being surrounded by such an inspiring team.
