When it comes to the creepy and the kooky, mysterious and spooky, you need look no further for inspiration than the Chaps & Co Blog. We know our Chaps to be a fun bunch so we’re offering up some spooky men's haircut ideas for Halloween.

You can’t complete a look, without the right cut. As men tend to have shorter hair, we’re often left short on ideas. For those blessed with luscious locks, the world may be your oyster, but for the rest of us, it can be a (short) hair-raising experience.

In order of length, we’ll run through a few ideas that may just help you find the perfect look for the 31st October.

NOTE: It’s one of the busiest weekends of the year for us at Chaps as Halloween rolls into Movember. Book your appointment here.

The Joker

Heath Ledger’s (RIP) 2008 rendition of the Joker in The Dark Night was spectacular. The look, unmistakable, and the quote “why so serious” echoed around the world.

For the Joker, you’ll preferably have medium to shoulder length hair. To perfectly replicate Heath's scruffy finish, cut layered bangs in the front, comb it back and colour it green. If you’re not ready for the chop, simply colour it green and use some gel to hold the look in place.

Wolverine

X-Men’s Wolverine is another easily identifiable style. Hugh Jackman is now synonymous with the look, which makes use of a ducktail finish to a pompadour. For a more traditional Wolverine, sweep ducktails to either side of your head.

One characteristic that really completes the Wolverine though, is the sideburns. You’ll want to grow a beard out, and then carve some hefty chops in down either side of your jawline. These will work with or without a little stubble around the rest of your chin.

Firestarter

Another rest in peace is due for Prodigy frontman, Keith Flint. The iconic punk image of Keith in that abandoned London tube tunnel will surely resonate with any 90s kid as the coolest of cool.

Again, you’ll need a little on the top, short back and sides as a minimum, then whizz all the middle off. Leaving the back and sides with a little length to work with, forming the ‘horns’ on either side of your head. Feel free to dye the hair whatever colour you like; the 90s kids will know.

The Pumpkin

A little more adventurous, the pumpkin can be created from a bald head, a short back and sides, or even better, an afro. Gingers get off lightly here, as they don’t need the dye.

Dying your whole head orange, find your most artistic friend and have them colour a face into the back of your head. This one is great for ignoring people at parties, you can simply turn around and let them converse with the back of your head.

The Uncle Fester

We’re not sure if this is a suggestion. For the bald amongst us, this probably gets thrown at you every year. If you’re not doing the pumpkin though, what other choices do you have? An egg?

The beauty of the Fester is how easy it is to pull off. A bald head, a pale complexion, and some dark eye sockets. We don’t want to say it, but we will, you might not even need any make-up. Just a rough night’s sleep and a dark jacket. Simple.

For any assistance completing any of the above looks, or your own inventive styles, feel free to check in with a professional. You can book into any of our hair salons right here.

Wherever your spooky weekend takes you, remember to have fun and as always #KeepItHandsome
