We often like to give recognition to our loyal employees that have been a part of the Chaps family through the years. One of these employees is Ahmed. He joined Chaps at the very beginning of opening since 2015 and has stayed loyal for an astounding 8 years!
Ahmed is originally from Syria, where he started his barbering journey. Having worked with many barbershops Ahmed found himself with many options, and eventually chose to join Chaps and Co, where he has grown exponentially over the last 8 years with our brand.
We sat down with Ahmed to ask him a few questions on his experience with Chaps and Co thus far, and what his future hold.
Q: What made you choose Chaps and Co?
A: After looking at many options I had to join other barbershops, I found Chaps and Co to be trustworthy. I was treated with the greatest amount of respect when asked to join and my gut feeling was that I should explore this venture with Chaps and Co.
Q: What has kept you motivated throughout the years?
A: Helping my clients has been a big part of what has kept me motivated throughout my time in the barbering field. I enjoy being trusted by my clients with helping them choose the styles that would best suite them and styling tips for their everyday wear. I find motivation in being able to build trust through my interactions with all my clients, whether it be clients that have come to me for years, or even clients that have recently joined me on my journey.
Q: What has been you biggest inspiration throughout your time at Chaps and Co?
A: My biggest inspiration is seeing the growth of Chaps from the very beginning to the point that it’s at today. It is very inspiring to see people work hard to build something meaningful, and I am inspired every day to help be one of those people building the Chaps brand. I’m also inspired daily by everything I have learned so far through my journey with Chaps and Co and that I get to continue to learn more.
Q: What are some of your favorite memories?
A: I don’t think I have a specific favorite memory of my time at Chaps, but some would be from having our yearly Chaps staff parties where we get to spend time together as a team. I don’t have specific favorite memories with my clients because I’ve enjoyed my interactions with all my clients, so it is very hard to pick out a few.
Q: What is your favorite thing about barbering?
A: Everything! I love the entire process of barbering from welcoming my clients, making sure they are comfortable, the entire process of the haircuts, helping give my clients the best advice for their hair type and shape. Absolutely everything about barbering I love.
Q: Do you have any advice for anyone that is looking to go into the barbering world?
A: Don’t focus too much on the money, it will come. Focus on building up your client list and taking care of your clients. When you take care of your clients you will succeed more because there is higher chance more people will come to you. You also need to be able to work in a team when working together with other barbers, don’t be scared to ask for advice from your team members and show as much respect for one another as possible.
Q: What are some of your goals for 2024?
A: I would like to help build the Chaps brand even more, it is always growing, and I would like to focus on helping it grow even more. I want to help Chaps go even more international! One of my goals is to visit the New York Chaps and Co and our Saudi Arabia Chaps and Co. I think it would be very exciting to see the stores in other countries.
