He’s watched us expand from one shop in Dubai to fifteen locations across the UAE, plus New York and Riyadh. Through every fade, beard trim, and conversation, Ahmad has played a quiet but powerful role in building the culture of Chaps & Co. All from the same exact chair he started working on 10 years ago.

As we celebrate ten years of Chaps & Co, it’s only fitting to spotlight a man who’s been part of the journey from the start. Ahmad represents the best of us dependable, skilled, and always ready with a smile.

So we sat him down for a chat. To look back. To look ahead. And to hear what a decade behind the chair has taught him.

Q: You’ve been with Chaps & Co since day one. What does this 10-year milestone mean to you personally?

A: This 10-year milestone isn’t just about time that has passed. It’s about the countless memories over the years I’ve been able to create, the challenges I’ve overcome in my career, and the community the brand has been able to build along the way. I think community is the most important part of any brand and if you don’t have that, you have nothing.

Q:  ⁠⁠What do you remember from your first days with Chaps?

A: The first days of Chaps was definitely difficult because there was so much to do in order to ensure we were building up a good reputation for ourselves. Everything felt like it was so quick and flew by so fast. I’m proud to be able to say that I got to see everything grow from the very beginning.

Q: What’s the most rewarding part of being a Chaps & Co barber?

A: The connection with my clients.  Every one that sits in my chair is not just there for a haircut. They’re there for a full experience, where they get to reset and destress. I think being able to connect with my clients on that level where they feel comfortable to have any conversation with me has been such a great experience because I care about connecting with people and that shows in my work.

Q:  ⁠Do you have a favorite memory or story from your time behind the chair?

A: One that I’ve always thought about over the years is when I gave a little boy his first haircut. At first he was extremely nervous and was too scared to let go of his dad’s hand. I continued to talk to him and put him at ease where he eventually started smiling and feeling more comfortable. By the time I finished the haircut, he was smilling in the mirror with so much confidence and pride. It wasn’t just a haircut to him, it was a moment he’ll remember, and so will I.

Q:  ⁠What keeps you excited to come to work every day after a decade with the brand?

A: Even after 10 years. Every day I get to interact with clients that bring different stories and styles and that allows me to make someone’s day better. I’m super proud that I’ve stayed with the brand through the years because not only have I grown, but so has the brand that’s constantly evolved over the years. Chaps & Co has continued to bring new techniques and new spaces to the industry and has inspired many others to do the same. Chaps have also set the standard for men’s grooming and continue to do so throughout the industry and region. Again connection will always be the corner stone of success in any business and Chaps have brought a space for people to connect and receive quality service and this is what keeps me motivated to come to work every single day.
